Abstract

Starting from a reflection on the concept of Statistics, we examine the role that this discipline plays in educational research. Facing the topic that the statistical techniques are useful in the quantitative research and, in particular, in data analysis, we support the idea that Statistics are useful in other moments of the research process and from other focuses. We conclude presenting some factors that limit the use of the Statistics in educational research.
