Open access and content reutilization policy
The Revista de Investigación Educativa (RIE) is an open access publication that follows the Diamond model: it does not charge readers subscription fees or authors article processing charges (APCs). All articles can be consulted online free of charge, without the need to register or pay.
In line with its commitment to Open Science, RIE has signed the “Manifesto on Open Science as a Global Public Good: Non-Commercial Open Access” approved at the Toluca Summit in 2023.
The journal is published by the Publications Service of the Universidad de Murcia, which retains the copyright of the published content. However, RIE encourages academic dissemination and allows the reproduction, use and distribution of articles under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivativeWorks 4.0 license. This means that the content may be copied, shared and communicated publicly, provided that:
- Authorship and the original source (journal, publisher and URL of the article) are correctly cited.
- They are not used for commercial purposes.
- The existence and characteristics of this license are expressly mentioned.
Modification of the original content or the creation of derivative works is not permitted.
In addition, RIE authorizes authors to deposit and disseminate their postprint versions (evaluated and accepted for publication) in open access repositories, without embargo periods.
In the case of preprint versions (prior to peer review), their dissemination is also permitted, provided that the journal is notified in advance at the time of submission. This is necessary to avoid conflicts with anti-plagiarism systems used during editorial review (such as Turnitin), as matches with the self-archived text could be detected.
