Consolidando el cambio de modelo: la publicación continuada en la Revista de Investigación Educativa
Abstract
This editorial outlines the process of revising the editorial policy of the Revista de Investigación Educativa, initiated in previous issues and aimed at improving the timeliness of scientific knowledge dissemination while responding more effectively to current dynamics in educational research. This process, developed progressively and with respect for the workflows and timeframes inherent to scholarly publishing, culminates in the adoption of a continuous publication model. The current issue opens with the publication of fifteen articles that have completed the peer-review process and will be progressively expanded throughout the year as new manuscripts successfully pass the stages of evaluation and editing, allowing for better alignment between scientific assessment and publication. This editorial approach is consistent with the principles of responsible research assessment promoted by international initiatives such as the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment and the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment, as it strengthens the recognition of each article based on its own scholarly contributions. The journal reaffirms its commitment to a diamond open access model, with no fees for authors or readers, and to rigorous and responsible peer-review processes. Methodological rigor remains a central criterion in editorial decision-making, alongside relevance, theoretical coherence, and the transferability of results—an aspect that will be explicitly highlighted in the journal’s editorial templates. In a context characterized by accelerated productivity and the growing use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, the journal upholds epistemological and methodological responsibility as essential to preserving the meaning and social function of research. The editorial concludes by thanking authors and readers for their trust and commitment throughout this consolidation process.
