COLUMBARIOS Y RELICARIOS EN EL PRÓXIMO ORIENTE
Abstract
The dovecotes found during the excavations made in Syria and those that are known from the bibliographic references have been gathered together in this article. The review made of the dovecotes in the Near East is only an attempt of approximation to the subject, because regions such as Cappadocia require a much more detailed study. Also the relation between dovecotes and «relicarios» as two different (?) manifestations of the sarne ideological phenomenon. Finally, the relation is established between the world of the hermits (as the archetype of that which is holy), the world of the doves and that of the dovecotes.Downloads
