Editorial 43
Abstract
The Editorial Team of the Revista de Investigación Educativa (RIE) supports the principles of the DORA Declaration (San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment) and the CoARA initiative (Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment). Both initiatives advocate for a fairer, more meaningful, and responsible approach to research evaluation, going beyond traditional metrics such as journal impact factor, and considering quality, rigor, social impact, and the diversity of research outcomes and practices. In line with these principles, and as announced in previous editorials, we are transitioning to a continuous publication model. This change also involves moving from two issues per volume to a single annual issue, thus eliminating the concept of volume. For this reason, the 2025 issue is unique and includes all articles accepted by the close of the year. The next issue, to be published in January 2026, will serve as a bridge between the two models: it will include the last articles managed traditionally (accepted during 2025) and will begin publishing articles continuously, as they are received and accepted throughout 2026. Finally, starting in 2027, the journal will fully adopt the continuous publication model, ensuring greater agility in the dissemination of knowledge. We hope that this transition will promote the advancement of educational research and its impact on building a more just and sustainable society, in alignment with Responsible Research and Innovation, as discussed in the editorial by the MIDE Department of the University of Valencia in the aftermath of the DANA impact.
