Abstract
Local history can only be written by the children of the land. It is true that the great problem is that such children of the earth have to be scientists and connoisseurs of the problems of General History, or else what usually results is a cheap and worthless work of scholarship other than to remind us of the local bibliography if it exists and the work is scholarly.
