Abstract

In this work will be listed several issues discussed at the litera-ture now about vocabulary spurt. The controversial nature of the phase of vocabulary spurt, its contents and duration. Discussed different criteria for defining exhaustively and operational this period. And finally, presents the factors that explain the possible causes and differences found in the transcultural studies.
