Open Access Policies

Annals of Psychology adheres to and is clearly committed to the Open Science paradigm as expressed in the "Manifesto on Open Science as a Global Public Good: Non-Commercial Open Access" issued by the 2023 Toluca Summit. He is also a signatory of the Sant Joan d'Alacant Declaration in defense of open access to scientific publications, promoted by the Group of Editors of Spanish Journals on Health Sciences (GERECS).

It also adheres to the guidelines described in the Principles of Transparency and Best Practices in Scholarly Publishing endorsed by DOAJ and other organizations (COPE, OASPA y WAME). Following the definition of open access proposed by DOAJ (1), Anales de Psicología is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI (Budapest Open Access Initiative, 2002) definition of open access.

This journal provides its content in immediate, full-text open access, based on the principle that allowing free access to research results allows for greater global knowledge sharing.

Currently, Annals of Psychology is a "gold" open access publication. Therefore, it is a peer-reviewed scientific journal whose contents are accessible without the need for purchase or subscription, in which the author retains the copyright and grants the journal the first publication of his or her work, and the journal allows, through a Creative Commons 4.0 BY license, the use and reuse of published content (see Copyright and License for details of our open access).

Anales de Psicología is included in open access journal policy and policy search engines, such as the Open Policy Finder - JISC (early Sherpa-Romero) and Dulcinea. These search engines provide information about the open access policies that journals offer for their articles.

In summary, Anales de Psicología has the following characteristics for publishing its articles in open access: (1) access to the article once published in the journal (not accepted or preprint), (2) copyright is retained by the authors, (3) with CC BY 4.0 license, (4) reuse once published, (5) however, (6) the published version, and previously the pre-print and post-print versions, may be self-archived and disseminated in any repository, website, etc., (7) the editorial source must be cited, and a link to the published article must be provided via the DOI or the article's website in the journal, and (8) published upon payment of APC (as a publication fee).
