Abstract

This paper presents the aspects involved in treatment of accessibility in virtual environments that have a vision of “social” accessibility. These aspects are metadata, IMS conceptual model and processes. Educational resources, virtual environments, repositories of learning objects, students and teachers in courses constitute an ecosystem in continuous mobility and interaction. The proposal is to achieve accessibility in virtual environments and this goal need to support these processes and interactions in the ecosystem to get an improvement in accessibility issues. Participation of the various actors that provides metadata and a demand for generation or improvement of accessible adaptations is nominated as "accessibility 2.0". This process is seen as key to trigger changes which foster greater accessibility in virtual environments.
