Monacato rupestre en La Rioja y en el Alto Éufrates sirio. Puntos de contacto
Abstract
It is made a comparison between the monastic rock spaces found in the surveys that the IPOA has practiced in the Upper Syrian Euphrates (1993-2001) and the ones found in La Rioja. It is demonstrated that the columbarium, the cells and other morphologic aspects respond to the same way of understanding the monasticism in the Late Antiquity. We are in front of different environments, diverse religious communities but similar forms of resolving some questions about functionality.
