Los obispos de Begastri
Abstract
Las excavaciones arqueológicas desarrolladas desde el año 1980 hasta la actualidad nos muestran, cada vez más, diversos testimonios sobre la cristianización de Begastri ya desde el siglo IV, que nos llevan a replantearnos diversos aspectos de la historia de esta ciudad.
Un aspecto concreto de este proceso como es la presencia de una sede episcopal lo conocemos por los datos suministrados por las fuentes literarias2 y por los hallazgos epigráficos, que son cada vez más numerosos y esperamos que, conforme avancen los trabajos arqueológicos, los planteamientos vayan enriqueciendo nuestros conocimientos sobre el origen y el desarrollo de la diócesis de Begastri.
