Abstract

This document is based on a survey carried out by the authors about Training of trainers and transversal competences. It aims to analyse the competence requirements of trainers of continuous training in Catalonia and come to some conclusions about their development needs. This will inform an innovative training model newly defined professional profile based on training practitioner best-practice. Although this document analyses only a small part of the information obtained by the survey, it provides some deep thinking about the status quo of the practice according to the aims proposed by EU institutions, to throw new light on training plans from their own perspective. We propose an original model of training intervention that is constructivist oriented and focused to the citizen-user as the beneficiary and actor of training, aiming to improve continuous training and the acquisition of learning. Achievement of these aims will enhance the longer-term effectiveness of training by equipping beneficiaries with the ability to acquire their own knowledge in their own way, and the flexibility to adapt to a wide range of learning methods.
