LAS PRIMERAS REACCIONES DE CONSTANCIO II AL CONCILIO DE SÁRDICA
Abstract
En esta nota voy a analizar la actitud que Constancio II asume a la llegada a Oriente de los obispos asistentes al otoño en 343 hasta el inicio de la cuaresma de 344. La reacción inmediata del augusto estriba en castigar a los pastores de sus tierras que hubiesen apoyado a sus colegas occidentales en la susodicha asamblea conciliar. Así Atanasio de Alejandría (Hist. ariam. ad monachos 18-19) menciona el exilio de Arrio de Palestina y Asterio de Arabia en la provincia de Libia Superior. Ello prueba el arraigo allí de las doctrinas arrianas pues Constancio II suele desterrar a los obispos nicenos en regiones dominadas por eclesiásticos contrario a esta fe. (...)Downloads
