Sarcófago bajo-imperial del museo de Arles con escena agrícola
Abstract
An analysis is made of the agricultural scene found on the sarcophagus of Ales. It depicts the harvesting, transportation and pressing of olives, and parallels found on reliefs, sarcophagus, paintings and mosaics of the Roman epoch, and references to these in the ancient literary sources are presented.
