Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to identify, in the opinions of the individuals who participated in the study, potentialities and limits of virtual environments as mediators of physical activity interventions. We conducted four experiences of physical activity, which were coordinated through distance education platforms and e-mail. Recipients of the proposal were undergraduates, postgraduates, lecturers and researchers from two universities in Argentina. The data collection was conducted through a questionnaire with open questions. The responses indicate both potentialities and limitations perceived by the subjects in relation to the distance mode of the experience. Finally, beyond some personal difficulties to adapt to such environments, virtual environments are indeed a resource with potential to mediate physical activity experiences.
