ENDO-Study: Um estudo qualitativo para avaliar o impacto de um curta-metragem na compreensão e percepção da endometriose pelos estudantes de medicina

Resumo

Este estudo investiga a eficácia de um curta-metragem, END-O, como uma ferramenta educacional para melhorar a compreensão dos estudantes de medicina sobre a endometriose e seu impacto na qualidade de vida dos pacientes. A endometriose, uma condição prevalente, mas frequentemente subdiagnosticada que afeta mulheres, apresenta desafios físicos e emocionais significativos. Foi utilizada uma abordagem qualitativa, envolvendo 23 estudantes de medicina do sexto ano, aleatoriamente designados a um grupo de estudo (n=11), que assistiu ao filme, ou a um grupo de controle (n=12), que não o assistiu. Após uma aula sobre endometriose, ambos os grupos completaram questionários para avaliar sua compreensão e percepções sobre a doença. O grupo de estudo demonstrou um reconhecimento significativamente maior dos sintomas (p = 0,005) e expressou percepções mais detalhadas sobre o impacto da doença na vida, incluindo dimensões emocionais e sociais. Os resultados sugerem que o filme promove eficazmente a empatia e uma compreensão mais profunda da endometriose entre futuros profissionais de saúde, destacando a importância de integrar abordagens humanísticas na educação médica. Essa intervenção pode contribuir para enfrentar o subdiagnóstico e o subtratamento críticos da endometriose.
