Abstract

Taking as a starting point the interest on the physical education teacher’s attitudes towards the practice of school sport in its most educational meaning, and as we start off from the idea that physical activity is an excellent tool to foster the moral
reasoning as far as the suitable procedure is carried out, developing moral and social values through the physical-sporting practice, a series of questions were asked to 216 physical education teachers, dealing with their conception of values through sport, observing that in general terms the statement of these teachers is strengthened in the use of values and pro-social behaviours against others which are more individualist and competitive. All of them are discussed and future proposals are raised to be developed in later research.
