Abstract

In this paper the Christian temples built on ancient thermal establishments are approached. The different explanations given by historians and archaeologists to this reuse are studied, especially in the Western part of the Empire. The starting point for our study is the legislation and opinions of Christians and pagans about the pagan patrimony and crucially the Christian attitudes towards the thermal bath culture.
