Abstract
Every new study that deals with old subjects has the imperious need to find a justification before itself and its possible readers. The greater the number of previous investigations, the greater that need. The truth is that ancient geography has been a highly debated issue over the past two centuries. Yet, there are still gaps that need to be filled. It is often said that Alexander's expedition changed the way the world was seen, but his geographers are criticized for simply reproducing the past.
