Digital representation and false history
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to question how easy it is to obtain data nowadays, and on the other hand to raise the need for the historian to intervene in the process of documenting and interpreting digital documents. As a scientific specialist, he or she must become a technology manager, determining both the needs for digital documentation and proposing models for recording, documenting and disseminating historical information. Today the historian is relying too much on technology, perhaps forgetting his main role in the process and ignoring issues such as controlling the internal or external reliability of models.
