Abstract

The accelerated production, specialization and fragmentation of knowledge, and the increasing caducity that characterizes them face educational institutions to major challenges in order to improve the quality of the education of citizens. Thus, one of the challenges that the university confronts undertakes to train students for autonomy, helping them to progress in the acquisition of abilities of self-regulation oriented to improve the quality of their learning. We explore the potential of feedback on self-perceptions to favor the self- regulation of resources of learning in university students. We work with 35 students of Education during the first term in 2010. Data were successfully collected by means of a self-report protocol and audio recordings of the implemented feedback instance. The analysis of the data suggests the potentiality of this type of feedback to favor students’ self- reflection processes in relation to their academic and social goals. The discussion stresses the importance of considering the benefits of feedback in the extension of the possibilities of internal and external resources self-regulation to achieve personally valued goals.
