Abstract

The book that we propose to review is a translation by Rafael G. Peinado Santaella of the well-known book Les royaumes barbares en Occident (Presses Universitaires de France, 2010) and whose authorship falls on Magali Coumert and Bruno Dumézil. Magali Coumert is a tenured professor at the University of Western Brittany and her field of study has always been in the period known as Late Antiquity and / or High Middle Ages, highlighting her work L’origine des peuples. Les récits du Haut Moyen Áge occidental (550-850) (Institut d'Études Augustiniennes, 2007). The second author of this book is Bruno Dumézil who is a tenured professor at the University of Paris West-Nanterre La Défense and his field of study has been focused mainly on the world of late antiquity with a certain predominance of the Austrasian kingdom in his works, hence that he is the author of great publications, among which we must highlight his reference work: La Reine Brunehaut (Fayard, 2008).
