Educación médica en expansión: distribución de Escuelas de Medicina en países hispanohablantes
Abstract
En los últimos años se ha intensificado el debate sobre el incremento del número de Facultades de Medicina en España, fenómeno que también se observa en otros países hispanohablantes (1- 2). Con el objetivo de ofrecer una visión comparativa, hemos analizado el número de facultades de Medicina por habitante en los países donde el español es el idioma oficial o mayoritario. Para ello, se identificaron los países con lengua vehicular española y su población actual, así como el número de Facultades de Medicina registradas en el World Directory of Medical Schools de la World Federation for Medical Education (WFME, 3).
