Abstract

The Deliberative Democracy puts the public debate at the core of the citizens’ political participation. Nevertheless, the material differences that exist between the individuals can influence decisively the development of the deliberative process.

In this article, I examine the way in which this theory of the democracy has treated this problem. Although we find differences between the authors, all of them support an equal influence of citizens in the political process.
