Abstract

Cuadernos de Psicología del Deporte presents Volume 26, Number 2, structured into three major sections: Sport Psychology, Sport Sciences, and a special section dedicated to the Scientific Legacy of María Teresa Anguera Argilaga. The Sport Psychology section addresses topics such as the relationship between coping, social support, and burnout in Mexican university athletes; motivational factors for physical activity among Brazilian higher education students; a bibliometric analysis of the five major European football leagues; validation of individual interest in physical education in the Philippines; the impact of a biopsychosocial program on athletes with chronic pain; the effects of mindfulness on endurance athletes; burnout variations between individual and team sports; psychometric properties of soccer fan identity scales; development of a perceptual-cognitive test for young volleyball players; cognitive functioning differences between individual and team sports; and an umbrella review of critical appraisal tools in sport psychology. The Sport Sciences section features three methodologically rigorous studies: one analyzes how the momentary match result modifies space occupation and running performance in football; another presents the validation of an observational tool for studying tactical patterns in organized attack; and a systematic review evaluates the impact of the Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR) model in secondary physical education. Finally, the Scientific Legacy of María Teresa Anguera Argilaga section honors this key figure in observational methodology. Two articles, written by her closest collaborators, review her academic and personal influence and reflect on the role of mixed methods in sport sciences, highlighting Observational Methodology as a mixed methods approach in itself. Together, this issue combines high-quality empirical research, methodological reflection, and a well-deserved tribute to one of the discipline's greatest references.
