Abstract

Objective: To analyze the spatial distribution pattern of frailty risk and insufficient levels of physical activity and exercise among older adults according to socioeconomic status. Methods: A cross-sectional epidemiological study was conducted, characterized as a screening study and spatial analysis of georeferenced data from the Federal District, Brazil (n=1,363). Descriptive and association analyses of the variables stratified by income were performed (p≤0.05), followed by spatial analysis with the development of three risk maps. Results: A high prevalence of older adults at risk of frailty (30.7%), insufficiently physically active (45.6%), and not engaging in physical exercise (53.4%) was observed, with significantly higher prevalence in low-income regions (p<0.001). Conclusions: Health interventions are needed to prevent frailty among older adults, highlighting the importance of ensuring access to physical activity promotion, healthcare services, and health education across all socioeconomic strata.
