La más antigua iconografía medieval de los reyes visigodos
Abstract
A juzgar por los monumentos que conservamos, no parece que el arte hispanovisigodo haya tenido predilección por representar las efigies de los soberanos que se sucedieron en el trono, durante los siglos VI-VII. El arte figurativo visigodo, por lo que nos es conocido, ha centrado su atención en otros temas. Salvo las efigies monetarias, ninguna otra imagen de los reyes visigodos de esta época ha llegado hasta nosotros. Hay que esperar al siglo X para encontrar las primeras representaciones de estos soberanos en el arte hispánico. (...)
