Abstract
Entre los tesoros literarios que nos ha legado la época visigótica figura acaso como el más valioso la colección de himnos litúrgicos, compuestos por autores diferentes en épocas distintas, que, a pesar de las investigaciones de algunos estudiosos, no ha retenido todavía en la forma debida la atención de los filólogos. Y con mayor razón ha sido ignorada por los historiadores que habrían podido recoger en ella preciada cosecha tanto en lo que hace a mentalidades e intereses sociopolíticos como en datos históricos de mayor o menor trascendencia.
