Abstract

Cette prophétie, du pseudo-Frédégaire, faite évidemment après coup, suggère qu'une partie des adversaires de la reine avait lancé, parmi d'autres calomnies, l'idée que cette femme d'origine espagnole, donc romano-byzantine, ne pouvait que détruire les peuples germaniques installés en Gaule, de la même manière que Justinien l'avait fait pour ceux qui avaient créé des royaumes en Afrique et en Italie.
