Abstract

This article is an approach to the first works developed by the archaeological mission organized by the University of Corunna (Spain) and the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums of Damascus in the Middle Euphrates valley. This project includes the study of the Byzantine cemetery of Tall as-Sin, in the syrian province of Deir ez-Zor, where 163 graves have been documented, being the more of them hypogeum dug in the rock.
