Abstract
A false inscription from Lozoya del Valle (Madrid) is revealed and the origin of the local tradition is investigated, which ultimately goes back to the false chronicles, which attempt to identify the Licabrum conquered by Gaius Flaminius in 192 BC. (Liv. 35, 22, 5) with the modern town of Buitrago (Madrid), deforming the name to Litabrum.
