Abstract

The aim of this research has been to analyze the psychometric properties of the questionnaire AF5 (García and Musitu, 2001) by means of exploratory and confirmatory factorial analysis in a population of the Basque Country. The sample is composed by 1259 participants between the 12 and 84 years divided in 702 (55.8 %) females and 557 (44.2 %) males. The exploratory factorial analysis was realised by the statistical package SPSS 17.0 and for the confirmatory factorial analysis we used the program LISREL 8.3. The results indicate that the AF5 questionnaire offers higher reliability indexes to = .71. As for the factoriality, so much the analysis factorial exploratory as the analysis factorial confirmatory they indicate that the results do not adjust to the model pentafactorial origi- nally. The model who better adjusts has been one compound for six fac- tors, in which the physical dimension divides in two factors (attractiveness and physical condition).
