La investigación biográfico-narrativa en un estudio sobre la situación de las mujeres en el deporte.
Abstract
A narrative-biographical research study conducted to explore women’s situation in the sports ambit is reported. We set out from the assumption that physical exercise and sports are human activities strongly related to the individual’s integral development and quality of life, and support the idea that education must facilitate access to high-level sports practice for women and teenage girls. We present a life history case and analyze those of ten women actively involved in the sports practice. Data were gathered through an in-depth open interview and documents from different sources (newspapers, web pages, etc.). Analysis is made through a double study: a vertical one (analysis of sportswomen’s life stages) and a horizontal one (comparative analysis of sportswomen’s roles, values, and competencies). Main results and conclusions are also presented here.Downloads
