Abstract
This research aims to propose a procedure that increases the consistency and credibility of the data collected in educational research, based on the analysis and assessment of the methodological quality of the semi-structured interviews carried out by the researchers and their perceptions of this data collection technique. It is based on a qualitative approach with a descriptive and interpretative nature, in which a multiple case study has been carried out, questioning researchers who have used the interview in the context of the development of the FLOASS Project. A sample of seven interviewers from the six universities participating in the project and eight of the interviews they conducted has been selected. For data analysis, two category systems were developed and MAXQDA2020 software was used. The results obtained confirm the association between the guidelines and positions of the interviewers and the recommendations and methodological guidelines established by leading authors in this field. In addition, a procedure is provided to ensure the consistency and credibility of the research based on two systems of categories that facilitate the process of reviewing and critically analysing the data collected through semi-structured interviews.
