Phonological disorders in children: results of the application of a programme
Abstract
The objective of this research was to evaluate the effectiveness of a children’s phonological training programme in the last year of kindergarten and first year of Primary Education. 100 students participated in the study who were enrolled in two public schools far apart (one urban and one rural). The children were divided into two groups (experimental and control) as involved or not in the training programme. The programme was implemented at the schools the children were attending; combining a habitual phase in the classroom with another in the speech therapy clinic. We followed a quasi-experimental pre-post design with a non-equivalent control group. After the implementation of the programme; effectiveness was evaluated by contrasting the results of the initial evaluation and the final evaluation. The results show significant progress in all the variables analyzed.
