Abstract

There is a renewed interest in design, production and the use of multimedia in Higher Education. Yet, its complexity as a technical and educational tool discourages teachers interested in developing multimedia materials. We developed an ex-post-facto study in order to find out and meet the training needs of university teachers in the field of computer graphics and multimedia, and thus be able to guide the design of training activities to improve teacher training. A total of 166 teachers from different fields of study took part in the study, and the instrument for data collection was an on-line questionnaire.

The results showed that the greatest educational needs are “web design and development”, “imaging”, and “audio and video digital editing”.
