Design patterns: example of application in the Generative Learning Object

Abstract

This paper describes what a design pattern, its objectives and classifications with examples of each of them. The work also provides information on some projects that design patterns applied to learning objects (LO) is currently performed as well as entrepreneurship by business and by public bodies and universities in developing the object repositories reusable as teaching support, teaching mainly virtual, ie in support of e-learning. Following this line, it looks at the Center of Excellence (CETL), their characteristics and scope of their actions in this field such as design, development and use by members of the Universities (London Metropolitan, Cambridge and Nottingham) Reusable Learning Object (RLO) or generative learning object (GLO). Finally, it proposes an example of design pattern applied to the latter issue, the Center of Excellence, as is the generation of GLO from a RLO.
