Abstract

The fame of romanticism arises from the fact that it yields to a demand for absoluteness, inheret to human nature, while rejecting ontological trascendence, as abhorrent to our modern positive mind. There is no being beyond space and time, nothing absolute if not the realizations of mind in experience and history. The notion of Bildung which progresive realization some reflections are suggested in this text about, is to be found in the heart of a finite-infinite dialectic which dont come together at the conclusive synthesis.
