Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the degree of satisfaction with the life of Primary School teachers regarding different socio-demographic variables and active lifestyle. With a descriptive, correlational and transversal design, the questionnaire translated into Spanish of the Vital Satisfaction Scale (Atienza, Pons, Balaguer and García-Merita, 2000), a scale for weekly physical activity and a questionnaire for sociodemographic characteristics, was administered online. The sample was composed by 649 active teachers by convenience sampling.

The results generally show a positive mean valuation of M=3,77 ± ,72, finding significant differences according to sex, marital status, employment status and professional specialty (p<,05). At the same time, significant differences were found in the gender, marital status, professional status and specialty in which she works. No significant differences were found in age, number of children, educational level, work experience, ownership of the school and population size.

The classification tree showed that the teachers with the greatest life satisfaction are those who are married or living in pairs, work in the specialty of Physical Education, Primary, Infant or Foreign Languages, and lead an active lifestyle.
