Abstract

Results of a research project designed to evaluate process contents in the Hands-On Science Program for Basic Education in Tamaulipas (Mexico) are reported. Evaluation procedures designed were focused on observation and note taking tasks, elaboration of graphic representations, and planning of experiments included in the Program. Results obtained indicate the differentiation in two groups of the schools participating in the program, depending on the number of units taken by children. On the one hand, we find children of schools with more hands-on units taken (7 or 8, showing higher scores, in relative terms), and, on the other, we find children of schools with only 1 to 3 units taken, showing lower scores than their counterparts.
