Abstract

This paper presents the results of the project “Improving educational quality by means of introducing the approach to gender” carried out in the provinces of Independencia and Elías Piña in the Dominican Republic. The project involved the development and implementation of organizational and training activities for teachers, students and families from selected schools in each of the two areas. The paper is divided into three parts. The first section describes the project during its two years of implementation; the second describes the evaluation process; and the third presents the main results of impact obtained from participating in the three groups six months after completion.
