Sentinel indicators of the bologna plan
Abstract
The purpose of our study is to analyze the influence of new teaching methods on students taking assessment tests for their degree at an Engineering School. We compare the expectation rate in former and current degrees adapted to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). From a statistical point of view, our study confirms that there are significant differences in the improvement of the expectation rate following the adaptation to the EHEA. The most relevant conclusions of the study refer to the changes that are occurring in the mentality of students when studying for their degree. There is an improvement in the knowledge gained by students in course subjects, which has an influence on whether they decide to actually take assessment tests. That is to say, Bologna students take on a higher level of responsibility.
