Ángel Valbuena y el auto sacramental en el teatro español del siglo XX
Abstract
During the second and third decade of the 20th century there is a revival of the autos sacramentales in the Spanish Drama. Thus a secular tradition and a wish for renewal which links the auto sacramental with the Avant-garde are united. The work of Ángel Valbuena Prat was decisive in its diffusion and study. In those years what is allegorical in the genre is used, keeping the eucharistic sense, disregarding it or inverting the meaning. In the Post-war period and in our present drama, the allegory is used to show the disappearance of God in a world in which the values have transformed His nature. As for the formal aspects, these autos continue the wish for renewal of its antecedents.Downloads
