Abstract

Llegada de los dioses, a theatrical play premiered in Spain in the late 20 th century, deals with topics which had repeatedly attracted the attention of both philosophy and literature of German Romanticism, in the 19 th century, and later, of Friedrich Nietzsche. Buero, who had read Schopenhauer in depth and had a wide knowledge of Nietzsche, was also an admirer of Enlightenment. Both heritages, Enlightenment and Romanticism, coexist in Buero’s dramatic works and show their traces, as well as they hide them.
