Abstract

In this article I will make a critical analysis on the debate between Larry Laudan and some advocates of the Convergent Epistemological Realism. In this view, the best scientific theories exhibit referential success and this feature proves that such theories are, at least, approximately true. For Laudan, is irrelevant to consider and treat scientific theories as if they were true. I will show that Laudan’s arguments against Convergent Epistemological Realism are enough praiseworthy and that realist defense against this arguments seems to be unsuccessful.
