Abstract

The insertion of women in labour market and their increasing level of academic education give them, perhaps for first the time in history, the possibility to conquer a flexible, open, plural and dynamic identity. We are in front of flexible women that are able to control autonomously their own lives in an economic and professional level as well as in an affective and familiar one. First we tackle the effects of globalization and the informational economy on the new ways of organizing work. Second we establish the main factors that are allowing an increasing insertion of women in labour market. And third we analyze briefly some of the consequences of this increase of women work: redefinition of the gender relation, especially in the professional, sexual, and matrimonial spheres.
