Advising online in sport psychology

Abstract

The new technologies had supposed a scientific world revolution. Science had adapted to a new research and practical methods. The Psychology hasn’t been passive with this change. In the last ten years a proliferation of studies about psychology application trough new technologies had been observed, especially Internet. Sport psychology had also dedicated to the new technologies, although, this ones still being small. Counselling in Sport Psychology includes different areas: the clinical, the own sport’s context (the field), and the on-line one (Dosil, 2004). Anyone of these three ambits can be appropriate; it only depends of different factors: consultation motive, sport modalities, kind of the sport’s psychology contract, etc. Generally, it is use a mixed method consist of the three types of counselling. The objectives of this study are: to analyse the advantages and inconvenient of the on-line therapy application in Sport Psychology and to establish an action protocol to make an on-line intervention in the sport context.
