DISORDERS ASSOCIATED TO PATHOLOGICAL GAMBLING
Abstract
Until nowadays there is no conclusive information about causality relationship between some disorders and pathological gambling, but what is evident is the association of pathological gambling with some disorders that affect personal, family, social and working aspects. Concerning personal aspects, the most important disorders that have an effect on pathological gamblers are: Affective disorders (deep depression), anxiety disorders and those due to the overconsume of alcoholic drinks and tobacco. The most important family troubles are the lack of communication between the gambler and this family. Social troubles derive in an absolute isolation from friends. Debts, loans, frauds and tricks are causes of the consecuences before mentioned. Finally, with regard to the working life, the usual behavior of a pathological gambler is a decrease of competence, absentism and troubles with workmates and superiors.Downloads
