Abstract

The objective of the study was to evaluate the impact of an art program on verbal and figural creativity, and on social behavior with peers in the classroom with children from 6 to 7. With this purpose a pretestintervention- posttest design was used and the studying sample was of 89 experimental and 46 control subjects. The intervention consisted of 21 sessions of 90 minutes of duration. It was worked with three artistic languages: visual, musical and dramatic. Before and after the intervention, the dependent variables were measured with three tests: TAEC, BVTPC and BAS1. The results of the MANCOVAs posttest-pretest differences suggest that the program improved significant verbal creativity (fluency, flexibility, originality), figural creativity (fluency coefficient), and social behavior (leadership, cheerfulness, respect- self-control, social adaptation).
