Abstract

Pépito Matéo, the great conqueror of words, manages to make us dream with each of his representations. Through his tales on CD, the listener can travel, fantasize and imagine. Thanks to that, the tale goes through boundaries and languages and becomes universal. The commented translation of Départ à l’aube, sans tambour ni trompette by Pépito Matéo shows how complex oral tales can be, not only because of the oral language but also because of the puns, the irony y the imagination difficult to convey in Spanish.
